A
management buy-out team, comprising Chris Emerson (Managing Director),
Paul Widdrington (Technical Director), and Steve Leicester (Finance
Director) has acquired the business and assets of PAV Data Systems Ltd
for an undisclosed sum. The management team were advised by the
Corporate Finance firm Dow Schofield Watts LLP.
PAV
Data Systems was established in 1994 manufacturing Free Space Optical (FSO)
systems. With offices in the
UK

Middle East
,
Asia
and
Africa
, PAV operates through an established distribution
channel of quality resellers in delivering PAV product to market.
With
an innovative product range, established sales channel and the new
impetus created by the MBO, PAV is looking to take advantage of growing
markets in developing countries where PAV already has an extensive
installed base.
The management
team, which has over 50 years experience within the computing and
telecommunications industry, intends to broaden the technology and
markets currently addressed.
PHD ventures invested
alongside management in the buy-out and arranged a second round of
financing from merseyside special investment fund.
